Friendly Reminder: Tree Removal Guidelines
Dear Neighbors, We love the beauty and shade our trees provide to our neighborhood! Before cutting down any trees on your property, please remember to review the Shakerag HOA Residential Design Standards for tree removal (snapshot below). The entire Shakerag HOA Residential Design Standards document can be found here https://pmi.cincwebaxis.com/shakerag/documents/
Required Information. The following items must be submitted to the ARC with each application for plan approval. Missing information may delay review of an application.
1. A completed application (the “Modification Approval Form”) is a two-page application which can be found in this section. It is also included online at: which is the preferred way for homeowners to make their requests. The form can be found online at shakeraghoa.com.
2. A property survey or detailed design document showing the location of all existing and proposed improvements clearly drawn to scale (not required for painting or re-roofing).
3. Trees to be removed. The property survey must indicate all trees proposed for removal that are 4” or greater in diameter (measured 2’ above natural grade), or any trees proposed for removal that are flowering trees. No consent or approval is required for the removal of a tree that is located within ten (10) feet of a drainage area, a sidewalk, residence or driveway.
4. Construction plans. The drawings must be to scale and show how the improvement is integrated to the existing home.
5. Sample Materials. Color sample or chips with the paints name, manufacturer, and paint number, are required for all painting applications. Product samples may be required for roofing, siding, or other materials.
6. Grading Plan. The application must contain a statement from the owner or the owner’s agent certifying that the proposed improvement will not affect existing surface water flows at the lot boundaries. If existing flows are being altered at the lot boundary, the application must include a description of the changes in surface water flow that will result from the proposed improvement and a statement from a licensed engineer that the changes in surface water flow will not cause significant adverse impact on all adjacent properties.
